"Flip or Flop" stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa haven't completely closed the door on their marriage, according to a new report.
TMZ claims the HGTV stars are still trying to work things out for the sake of their family -- they have two children together.
The site goes on to say that the estranged couple has been actively making an effort to resolve their issues and perhaps even save their marriage, although there is no guarantee that they will reconcile.
The reality TV duo reportedly split in May after the two got into an argument and Tarek left their home with a gun. Authorities were alerted because there was a question as to whether or not he was suicidal.
Within minutes, a police helicopter spotted the reality TV star on a trail and he was told to drop his weapon. Tarek claimed he had no intention of hurting himself and he wanted to "blow off some steam." He claimed he brought the gun in case he encountered mountain lions and rattlesnakes, TMZ claimed.
This week, Tarek and Christina acknowledged that they split after an "unfortunate misunderstanding" in which "the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution."
In a statement the two said, "We decided to separate while we reevaluated the next steps in our married life. We believed this was in the best interests of the children and the best way to determine a path forward."
The estranged couple will continue to film their reality TV show, in which they purchase distressed properties, repair and remodel them and attempt to resell the home.
On Thursday, Dec. 15, Tarek and Christina were spotted on a coffee date, so, at the very least, they are trying to remain cordial.
Reports this week also indicated that Christina has already moved on with another man.
