Kimora Lee Simmons addressed rape allegations facing her former husband Russell Simmons for the first time late Thursday night.
"I add my voice to the chorus of those speaking out against harassment and violence in all its forms," the fashion designer wrote in an Instagram post.
Russell has been accused by at least eight women of sexual assault or rape over the past month. The most recent accuser spoke out on Wednesday and is currently suing the hip-hop mogul for $5 million in damages.
Kimora, 41, has come to his defense with her statement.
"I have known Russell for over 25 years. We were close friends, married, divorced, and have remained friends, co-parents and partners throughout it all. These allegations against him are nothing like the person I have known in all that time. I have known him to be a caring and supportive father and someone who has worked tirelessly to uplift disenfranchised communities," she said.
Russell vehemently denied the claims against him in a statement to Page Six. The Phat Farm founder also launched a #NotMe hashtag campaign on social media to support his cause before dropping the slogan after a stream of backlash.
"I look forward to having my day in court – where, unlike the court of public opinion, I will have the ability to make use of fair processes that ensure that justice will be done and that the full truth will be known," the 60-year-old said.
Russell previously announced that he was stepping down from all his businesses in light of the allegations.
