Dance floor drama! The "Dancing With The Stars" finale is set for next week, but the timing of the show — or maybe even the look of it — could be changing after Derek Hough's positive COVID test.

Just hours after being present in the "DWTS" ballroom on Nov. 15, Derek announced that he's tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19.
"Hey everyone, I have some news to share and I wanted you to hear it straight from me. Even though I've been fully vaccinated I've just been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID and just found out and I feel okay" he shared on Instagram early on Nov. 16. "I feel strong, but I'm currently taking advice from medical professionals, doing everything I can to get better as fast as I can."
Derek was forced to cancel his upcoming Las Vegas shows as result of the positive test.
"I'm currently in quarantine. I'll make sure I keep you guys all updated with what's going on," he said.

How this affects next week's "Dancing With The Stars" finale isn't yet known, but it could have ramifications, particularly given that Derek was unmasked and in close proximity to both his fellow judges and the finale contestants.
Back in October, Derek had to sit out a week after possible exposure to COVID. Further, Cheryl Burke and her celebrity partner, Cody Rigsby, both performed live from their individual homes earlier this season after testing positive for the virus.
The Blast reported Derek's positive test "could potentially mean show tapings and performances get pushed back while the entire cast and crew get tested for the virus and possibly quarantine."
