Ice-T's wife is defending herself after being criticized for continuing to breastfeed their daughter, Chanel, who is now 5 years old.

Interestingly, Coco Austin dealt with similar flak last year for the same exact reason.
"Chanel still likes my boob. She's 5 years old," Coco told Us Weekly on Aug. 2. "A lot of people are like, 'Oh, you're not getting the nutrition after 2 years old. Why do it?' And I'm like, My child's eating steak and hamburgers. She just likes a little snack every now and then and more of the bonding between the mother. Why take that away from her?"
The rapper-actor's wife insisted that she's not making her daughter breastfeed, and she'll stop when Chanel's wants to stop. For Chanel, it's all about comfort.
"She loves on it and it's not like she's getting milk from it," Coco said, "but she's getting her little snack and it's kind of soothing her to sleep."
Despite the judgement, Coco, 42, makes if clear that she's unfazed.
"I don't want to deprive her of something she wants," she said, "just because society says you need to stop after 2."
The criticism is nothing new for Coco. In March 2020, she faced pushback from many on social media after sharing a snap of Chanel breastfeeding. At the time, she was 4 years old.
"I've been getting a lot of props in the breastfeeding community and get tons of emails from woman/moms appreciating me bringing light to the subject," she wrote on Instagram last year.
Many fans, however, weren't cosigning her message, saying that it was "not normal" for Ice-T's lookalike daughter to still be breastfeeding at her age. One year later, those people still feel the same way.
