Former "Very Cavallari" star Jay Cutler claims he was dropped from an Uber Eats commercial due to his views on children wearing face masks in school.
Kristin Cavallari's ex has been vocal against school mask mandates and recently hinted that he would run for a school board position in his home state of Tennessee. Last week, video went viral of anti-mask parents crashing a school board meeting and later badgering school board members and doctors leaving the meeting.
Jay commended the parents and retweeted videos of them. The fact that they attended a school board meeting, he said, "speaks volumes."
He later claimed his views cost him an endorsement deal.
"Lost a commercial with Uber eats partnering with the NFL. Was going to film in LA, 'views aren't aligned,'" he tweeted. "Guess they don't like future School board members. Frees up my weekend."
Asserting that he's unfazed by the loss of the Uber Eats campaign, he tweeted, "Tend to cook at home anyway."
A spokesperson for Uber said the company is looking to work with those who have a similar outlook on COVID and masking — and Jay certainly doesn't meet that requirement.
"We are proud of all the work Uber has done over the last year to help get as many people vaccinated as possible. As such, we prefer to partner with those who support that work," an Uber spokesperson told DailyMail.com.
Continuing to hint that he plans to run for the Williamson County School Board, the retired NFL player tweeted that he's likely on course for a 2024 campaign.
Since sharing his divisive views, Jay has been showered with both praise and disgust by fellow Twitter users. On Aug. 16, he took a swipe at his critics.
"Appreciate the words of support. What I don't understand is the people verbally attacking me," he wrote. "What happened to unity, acceptance and bringing people together? Seems like that isn't the case unless I agree with you. Get a shot or wear a mask. Your choice. I will make my choice."
