Smash Mouth singer slapped with restraining order

A judge has granted a restraining order that keeps Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell away from his ex-fiancée.

TMZ reported on Friday that Esther Campbell filed documents alleging that the frontman flies into alcohol-fueled rages and verbally and mentally abuses her. She also claims that he's off his medication and is often "vindictive, angry, vile and mean" toward her.

The temporary restraining order means Steve can't go within 200 yards of Esther, and he must stop contacting her. 

The ruling comes after Esther detailed several alleged incidents involved the "All Star" singer. She says Steve went to rehab (presumably for alcohol issues) but relapsed earlier this year. She claims he once stole her phone and destroyed it. She also alleges that he once stole her car keys in order to deliberately leave her car windows open in the rain to ruin the interior.

Esther states in the court records, which were obtained by TMZ, that Steve is bipolar — something he has never addressed,

Steve and Esther dated for a year before he proposed in September 2019. Esther claims that less than a month after they got engaged, Steve was harassing her via texts, calls and emails. She's labeled his behavior as "threatening."
