Chris Sullivan is experiencing fatherhood in real life for the first time.
On Thursday, the "This Is Us" star announced that he and his wife, Rachel Sullivan, welcomed a son.
According to People magazine, the couple named their little prince Bear Maxwell Sullivan.
"HE HAS ARRIVED!" Chris captioned an Instagram photo of the baby's feet. "8lbs of beautiful baby boy."
He went on to praise his wife, indicating that she went through 20 hours of labor. Witnessing the birth "was one of the great honors of my life," Chris said. "It was primal and intentional and I have never been more in love with this powerful woman."
He went on to say that Rachel and Bear are "recovering well" and "exhausted."
Chris, who plays Toby on the hugely popular NBC show, told People how he and his missus chose their son's unique name.
"As far as the name announcement goes, we designed a puzzle to send to our family members as a fun way to announce his name and to keep us all connected during quarantine — kind of a group activity to reach across the land. It's both information and something to do. And the reveal of our first son's name," he said. "Everybody had a great time. It was kind of set up like a contest — everyone had a time when they could start and everyone had to send us a photo when it was finished."
He added, "Everyone is very excited to meet Bear, and hopefully in the next few months, we'll be able to introduce him to all of his friends and family."
