As he lay comatose in a Las Vegas hospital room, more and more heartbreaking details are beginning to surface about Lamar Odom's tragic week, one that culminated with him fighting for his life.

"The situation is unimaginable. It is so sad, so awful," a source told People magazine.

On Tuesday, the former NBA star was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel with fluid coming out of his nose and mouth. Lamar, according to the Nye County Sheriff, was then driven to a Las Vegas hospital in an ambulance. There, it was discovered that drugs may have played a role in this awful turn of events.

TMZ is reporting that Lamar had cocaine and opiates in his system and track marks on one of his arms. It's unclear if the track marks, a sign of drugs use, were recent or from past drug use.

"The fluid they found in his lungs was the result of crack cocaine use," TMZ said.

Shortly after the news broke, Dennis Hof, owner of the Love Ranch, where Lamar was partying over the weekend, said that the former Los Angeles Laker was using an "herbal viagra" but didn't know if he was using other things behind closed doors.

The news of the incident predictably struck a nerve with the Kardashian/Jenner family. Khloe Kardashian, whom Lamar was married to, Kim Kardashian West and Kris Jenner all put their lives on hold and headed immediately to Las Vegas' Sunrise Hospital to be by Lamar's side.

There are differing reports as to whether crews are filming the tragedy for "Keeping Up With The Kardashians." But TMZ notes that the show is currently on hiatus, so there is no staff available to shoot and that the Kardashians have banned any photography within eyeshot of Lamar.

"Everyone has dropped everything to get there. There are a lot of calls and texts going back and forth as everyone is figuring out how they can help and be there for each other," People's source says. "They are asking their close friends to pray for Lamar, for healing and strength. There is confusion about his condition, and they don't know the extent of his injuries, but I'll tell you this: they wouldn't just drop everything unless it was serious. The family has been told that this isn't just a minor thing; that it was extremely serious."

On Oct. 14, Kendall Jenner cryptically Tweeted, "please don't go," a sentiment likely aimed at Lamar. Kylie Jenner reportedly found out the news during a live stream and promptly ended it, tweeting, "Had to end my live stream. I love you guys."

Khloe has yet to comment on the incident, nor has she been seen. Kris, however, was photographed in a somber state outside of the hospital early Oct. 14.

Aside from the Kardashian/Jenner family, a steady stream of visitors have also made their way to Lamar's bedside to pray with the reality TV family, including Kobe Bryant and Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak (the Lakers just happened to be in Vegas on Oct. 13 for a pre-season basketball game at MGM Grand). Jessie Jackson has also arrived, as he was already in Las Vegas, too, for the Democratic debate at Wynn. In a brief press conference outside the hospital, he confirmed that Lamar was unconscious and hooked up to various medical machines. People and Us Weekly are both reporting that he is suffering strokes while in medical care, too.

Lamar's father, Joe Odom, is also in Las Vegas with his son.

Little has been confirmed about what led to Lamar's downward spiral over the weekend, but several outlets are reporting that an episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashains" was a culprit. TMZ even said it was the "trigger."

"Lamar seemed normal during his stay until he got a call from someone about the show," the site, which broke the news of Lamar's unconscious state, said. "Some of the women who were around Lamar say he became irate, complaining about the way he had just been portrayed on the show."

The episode, which aired on Oct. 11, had an eerie foreshadowing moment.

"I love Lamar and care about him a lot," Khloe said in the episode after getting a call from Lamar. In a other clip from the same episode, she took a call from her former love as he told her that his longtime best friend Jamie Sangouthai had passed away.

"I'm really on high alert for Lamar," she said in a confessional, "because, I mean, anything I think will set him to spiral, and that's kind of the last thing I want for him."

The Nye County, Nevada Sheriff, Sharon Wehrly held a press conference in the afternoon shedding some light on the investigation and Lamar's status. When asked whether or not Lamar could be prosecuted for drug possession if speculation that he was under the influence of cocaine proved true, the sheriff stated that it would be "distinctly possible."

Others that could possibly come under fire once the police department conducts their investigation? The brothel itself, and the individuals that work there. The sheriff noted that she couldn't release any specific details, including whether or not Lamar arrived at the Love Ranch alone or had visitors during his stay, but that a full investigation was underway.

The 911 tapes were played during the press conference, and the callers confirm previous speculation that Lamar had been using cocaine during his stay. They also mentioned that he had been taking an herbal supplement, as had been previously reported, and the blood, along with mucus, was coming out if his nose and mouth.

When a detective was later questioned about where Lamar may have procured the herbal supplement, he specified that there was a possibility that it was "obtained at the establishment."

Perhaps the most heartbreaking portion of the press conference came when questions arose over whether or not the sheriff and her deputies had been in contact with Lamar's family members, specifically Khloe. The representatives refused to specify which family member they contacted, but commented on the state of the individual after they were told about Lamar's status, sharing: "They were understandably distraught over the circumstances."
