Gwen Stefani had just gotten out of a longterm relationship and she fairly quickly got with a man who was unlike anyone she had ever met... his name was Gavin Rossdale

Expecting someone else?

The No Doubt front woman has been fairly silent about her ex-husband -- especially given that she's found love with Blake Shelton. But she spoke about him with Howard Stern on Wednesday, revealing details of how she felt after she and the Bush rocker split and also how they met, which few people knew about. That's where it got interesting.

Gwen said Gavin "stalked" her.

The "Voice" coach had just gotten out of a relationship with No Doubt member Tony Kanal ("Don't Speak" was written about him) when she met Gavin at KROQ's annual Almost Acoustic Christmas concert, a two-day show in Los Angeles.

"I had basically gone to the show with Tony for the second night because we weren't playing that night. I think Gavin had requested I come or something like that. We already knew we were going on tour with his band [Bush]," Gwen told Howard.

"When I met him and looked up at him, I was like, 'Whoa.' It was different. I was in quite a rebellious place because I was feeling really rejected.…Somehow he got my phone number, and that was that. He stalked me, I think," she added. "I was only 26, and I only had the one relationship. I still lived at home when I met Gavin."

The pair eventually married and had three children, Kingston, 10, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2. However, their marriage ended in August 2015 and soon Gavin was hit with cheating allegations.

"Its been an unbelievable journey. You can't even imagine. It did rock [my world]. My parents were totally helping me through the whole thing," she said of the split. "I was in a panic. I was in hell."

She continued, "I think, for me, I feel like I always wondered, Why did I get so unlucky in love? I have so much love in me. [Howard] you are making me cry."

Fast forward a few months and she felt suddenly like the luckiest girl in love after falling for Blake Shelton, who had also recently divorced his wife Miranda Lambert.

Of Blake being there for her post split, she said, "It was an incredible gift to be able to have a friend."
