According to royal biographer
Robert Jobson,
Prince William asked King Charles III if he could pump the brakes on work, as he wanted to focus on Kate Middleton and his father's health.
"Think again," Charles told William, Jobson claimed in
The Windsor Legacy: A Royal Dynasty.

"Like William, he became a 'beacon of strength' to the princess. The two had a private one-to-one lunch at Windsor Castle the day before Catherine's pre-recorded video was aired," Robert Jobson continued.

King Charles and
Prince William publicly stood by Kate Middleton, who is currently in remission, throughout her cancer journey.
"There, they were able to offer each other support," Robert Jobson said. "After it was shown, Charles issued a palace statement saying he was 'so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did.'"

Since returning to public duties, Kate Middleton has opened up about her private health battle.
"As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am, however, looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead," Kate shared in a post.
