Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert Hough, opened up about the beautiful meaning behind their baby girl's name.
The little one, who was born on December 29, is called Everley Capri Hough, the spouses revealed on Instagram in early January.
"Everley was always at the top of a list that I had," the little girl's mom told People as part of a new cover story. "I actually saw this post the other day that was like, 'It's crazy that I've seen your name in my notes app for so long, and now you're here with me.' I was like, 'That's exactly what it's been.' Her name has always had a little star by it because there were a few that we really liked."
But the choice of name wasn't an easy one for the new parents. "It was almost a week" before they actually settled on a name, the Dancing With the Stars dancer said. "We were like, 'We should probably name her.'"

Their foolproof strategy for landing on a name once and for all was "to keep staring at her and see what name calls to us," Hayley explained.
And if you thought they didn't think every detail through, you'd be very wrong: They spelled their daughter's name that way to mirror the last three letters in her mother's name. "It's very intentional, the way we spelled it," Derek said.
The couple left nothing up to chance — they even looked into the numerology of the name Everley when making their decision.
"Whether you believe in that kind of stuff or not, it was cool," Derek told People. "When we looked at the meanings of it, it was like, 'Okay, this is beautiful. We love this.' It felt right. It just was a feeling."
It turned out the name Everley made the baby a number 11, which was really significant. "She was 11 days late, I'm born on October 11," Hayley said. "It just called to us, and we were like, 'This is right. This is it.'"
As for the middle name Capri, the parents felt that it added a little "spicy" element to their little girl's full name.
Everley is the couple's "rainbow baby," since the brunette beauty previously suffered a miscarriage.
In October, they posted a video with the following caption: "There are some things in life that change you forever. For us, this is one of those things. A chapter of love, loss, heartbreak, and everything in between. As we are now in October, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, we share this part of our story to honor our baby that never made it earthside. One in four pregnancies end in miscarriage, a silent heartbreak so many families know, and one we unfortunately had to experience. As we share this, know that there's a rainbow not far behind. ♥️🌈."
