Prince Harry hopes to invite King Charles III to the Invictus Games in 2027.
"This invitation to King Charles to open the Invictus Games in Birmingham is Harry's trump card. Invictus is his top achievement, and it is a charity so well regarded that it celebrated its first decade with a service at St Paul's," royal expert
Richard Fitzwilliams told the outlet.

"However, this invitation places the King in an extremely difficult position. He is Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Invictus is a major military charity," Richard Fitzwilliams continued.

Prince Harry's Invictus Games is an extension of his veteran advocacy work; if King Charles III opted out of attending, it could send the wrong message.
"The Windsors have a deep sense of duty, and for that reason, one would expect him to accept, whatever feelings he might have about the difficulties the Sussexes' behavior has caused the royal family," Richard Fitzwilliams noted.

"Queen Camilla turns 80 the following week on the day of the closing ceremony, which may cause scheduling difficulties," Richard Fitzwilliams continued.

King Charles III could accept
Prince Harry's olive branch. However, it's unlikely
Prince William, whom the Duke of Sussex attacked in his memoir, will want to reconcile.
"On the other hand, the future of the monarchy lies with the Waleses and their family," Richard Fitzwilliams said. "The brothers [Harry and William] have reportedly not spoken in over three years."

"It is unlikely the King, who is undoubtedly keen on some sort of reconciliation with Harry and to see his grandchildren — whom he last saw during the celebrations of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee (which was the last time they were in the U.K.) — would act in a way William strongly opposed," Richard Fitzwilliams continued.
