According to lip-reading expert
Nicola Hickling,
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle discussed their royal escape in 2018 at a royal gathering.
Hickling said in
Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, Meghan told Harry to "take advantage of the situation" before noticing the royals surrounding them.

Nicola Hickling then claimed that
Prince Harry asked Meghan Markle, "Today?" as before the Duchess of Sussex added, "Do it tonight."
"You do realise that this is the end?" Harry allegedly asked.
"Yeah, I do know," Meghan said, according to Hickling.

When
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the U.K., Buckingham Palace painted their move as an amicable decision.
"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are grateful to Her Majesty and the Royal Family for their ongoing support as they embark on the next chapter of their lives," the Palace said in a statement.

"As agreed in this new arrangement, they understand that they are required to step back from royal duties, including official military appointments. They will no longer receive public funds for royal duties," the Palace continued.

In his security lawsuit,
Prince Harry claimed he "felt forced to step back from the role of full-time official working members of the royal family as they considered they were not being protected by the institution."
Since relocating to California, Harry and Meghan Markle have publicly complained about royal life and their explosive exit.
