According to
Louise Heren, who wrote
Nanny in a Book, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis' longtime caretaker
Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo cannot refer to them as "kids" in their presence. "The word kid is banned. It's a mark of respect for the children as individuals," she told
The Mirror.

Despite being one of the most famous families in the world, Louise Heren thinks Kate Middleton's large role in her children's lives keeps them grounded. "Given what we have seen of Catherine when she is out in public, she's very hands-on. I imagine her relationship with Maria [Teresa Turrion Borrallo] is very close and they collaborate greatly on the care of the children," she said.

Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo has worked for
Prince William, Kate Middleton and their family since 2014. "I've spoken to nannies who have worked with other royal families and life is pretty normal. You get up, have breakfast, you go to school and you wear your school uniform whether you like it or not. It would be quite like the average British school child," Louise Heren said.

As apart of King Charles III's New Year Honours list, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo received a Royal Victorian Medal for her services to the Waleses.
