At least in a roundabout way, the ubiquitous Kardashian family is playing a role in the split between former "Real Housewives of Miami" Larsa Pippen and her NBA husband Scottie Pippen.

Larsa is BFFs with Kim Kardashian West and has been featured on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and other family spinoff shows, much of this to her husband's chagrin. He filed for divorce from Larsa last week.

"Scottie hates this whole 'Kardashian Instagram lifestyle.' [Larsa is] all about clubs and rappers and DJs. He just wants out of that world," a source told The New York Post, adding that the former Chicago Bull "just wants to play golf and stay low-key. He's afraid of all the gossip that comes with that Kardashian world she's in."

Almost immediately after news of the split hit the media, there were reports that romantically linked rapper Future to Larsa, but his team insisted that those were all baseless. Earlier this year Larsa's rep acknowledged there was "tension" when the NBA legend took another woman to a playoff game. Still, her rep told the paper's Page Six gossip section that the main reason for the split was based on a fight over his desire to move to Chicago for a job with ESPN.

Her rep, who claims Scottie has "no problem" with his wife's social media, also insisted that a reconciliation is certainly not off that table, and, in fact, it's likely.

"I'm fairly certain they're going to make up . . . He's sending her messages. They're communicating." the rep said. "I don't think they're going to pull the trigger. He was saying, 'I miss you. Let's talk.' She's feeling the same way. When it rains, it pours, but Scottie's at a different place. She's at a different place, and they're just figuring it out."

Her rep added, "I believe he took a new job in Chicago working with ESPN as an analyst for the Chicago Bulls. It's a job-related thing, and he's always preferred Chicago over Miami, so that's always been an issue, but that's nothing new. He wants to reside fully in Chicago and she loves Miami.

"They've been texting nonstop. And she's like, 'Is this really how it's going to end? We've been through so much together.' She was a little bit caught off guard [by his divorce filing]."
