Mariah Carey's split from fiance James Packer may be music to her fan's ears -- and it seems to be welcome news to one of her backup dancers, too.

According to a new report in Us Weekly, Mariah is using the split for good.

Mariah "has been putting all her pain into a new album," a source told the mag. "She wants it to have the big heartbreak ballads she's famous for."

The source said she's enlisted producer Jermaine Dupri to help steer the album. Jermaine co-helmed her 2005 album, "The Emancipation of Mimi."

"They want to re-create that vibe," adds the insider. "She wants to duplicate her old success."

If she can somehow replicate monster ballads like "Hero" or "One Sweet Day," fans are in for a treat.

Mariah and James split in late October after a fight in Greece. Soon after that, rumors began floating around that one of her backup dancers had a thing for her. Well, a newly released promo for Mariah's reality show seems to confirm that.

Bryan Tanaka has a "huge crush" on the singer, a woman in Mariah's entourage says in the promo.

"Tanaka does have a crush on her," can be hear saying. "What are we gonna do with him," Mariah's manager Stella Bulochnikov asks.

The video then shows Mariah sitting on his lap. "You saw it, he's not leaving that easily," the woman says.

It seems that James also suspected something with Bryan, as well. An October report in TMZ said James "grew jealous" of her relationship with Bryan, and "the tension boiled over in June at Mariah's show."

Bryan apparently showed up to the show even though he was injured and not performing, and James found this odd. The billionaire reportedly took Bryan into a room for a chat and there was a lot yelling, the website said. James even got Bryan banned from Caesars Palace, where Mariah performed in Las Vegas.

Sources close to Mariah think her former fiance got suspicious after she gave Bryan a lap dance during a May performance in South Africa. The lap dance is a staple of her show and sometimes involves audience members, celebrities or members of her team.

James is not seen in the new promos for the show.
