As social media platforms have afforded more creatives and performers a platform than ever before, many artists have diversified their portfolios, becoming multi-tiered talents. Gone are the days when an actor was forced to only be an actor, or a singer to only be a singer. In 2025, artists can govern their own image and function across multiple media, as is the case with Ariana D'souza. Ariana is a multifaceted artist making waves in film, TV and digital media.
Ariana's Artistic Excellence
Ariana stands out as a unique talent in the United States entertainment landscape — an extraordinary creative force whose global background and diverse expertise provide a level of versatility and innovation that is both rare and essential. With professional experience across Los Angeles, New York, London and Hong Kong, Ariana has built an impressive career in film, theater and commercial work. For instance, she wrote and performed in Pull Back the Curtain in 2021 with the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation and was featured in a documentary about the performance. Additionally, she served as the lead dancer at Hong Kong Disneyland.
However, it is crucial to note that her contributions extend beyond performance, encompassing creative development and social media strategy for esteemed film festivals, further solidifying her impact across multiple areas of the industry. She starred in the short film Whenever You're Ready for the 48 Hour Film Festival Los Angeles in November, which was an Official Selection for the First Time Filmmaker Sessions hosted by LiftOffGlobalNetwork and a semi-finalist for the BBR Indie Films. She also led in the film Folded Heart, produced by the Ghetto Film School. Additionally, Ariana starred in two international commercials for Tecno Mobile, a national commercial for Talkin App and was featured in a national commercial for Liquid Death.
Recognized for her work with established productions and companies, and backed by extensive training under renowned professionals, Ariana's dynamic presence as an artist and creative collaborator makes her an indispensable asset to the evolving landscape of American entertainment.
The Origins of Ariana's Role in Entertainment
Ariana recalls that her journey began "from the moment I heard my first story." From a young age, she immersed herself in extensive training in film, theatre, music, dance, modeling and improv, consistently seeking new ways to express herself.
Throughout childhood, her family traveled, and she was exposed to a rich diversity of cultures. These formative experiences sparked her interest in telling stories and how art and performance can bridge different worlds. She would go on to apply to the AMDA College of the Performing Arts where she received a scholarship to study in Los Angeles followed by New York at the American Musical Dramatic Academy, along with prior training in London and Hong Kong with various theatre companies and institutions such as the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Pineapple Dance Studios with teachers from the National Theatre as well as companies in Hong Kong.
Feeling Represented and Empowered in L.A.
After many years, Ariana feels truly at home in LA. As she says, "Due to the lack of representation and diversity in the media in Hong Kong, it negatively impacted me. So moving to L.A., I feel as if my voice is heard and that I am able to live in a creative and artistic society where I not only feel heard and seen but am able to grow as an artist."
Challenges
One of the biggest challenges she has faced is feeling trapped in her circumstances, such as dealing with rejection. While she acknowledges that it is an essential part of being a performer on every level, she admits she still struggles with it on an emotional level. As she says, "Every rejection in my life has enabled me to achieve more. It's a universal experience, but we come together to tell stories for those who don't have a voice."
Ambitious Future Plans
Moving forward, Ariana D'souza is passionate about becoming involved in the production side of the film industry, working with notable film festivals in L.A., and partnering with sponsors to elevate the film festivals, as well as improving social media for these film festivals.
She is currently a member of Women In Film, Grammy U Programme, Not Your Daddy Films and often attends film festivals with affiliations such as the NFMLA, PAFF, Indie Shakes, Indiewire, Disney and American Cinematheque, some of these events which are affiliated with FX Networks, Hulu, ABC and Vidiots.
