Carrie Fisher's family seeks contact with emergency workers
When Carrie Fisher suffered a heart attack on a United flight from London to Los Angeles last month, two medical professionals worked tirelessly to save her. TMZ reports Carrie's family is now trying to get in touch with them to say "thank you" for their help, which the family believes was the reason the "Star Wars" icon survived long enough for her family to see her before she died in the hospital in Los Angeles on Dec. 27. According to the website, the off-duty emergency workers helped out after a flight attendant announced what was happening over the PA.

Jennifer Lawrence, Darren Aronofsky enjoy Central Park on New Year's
The unexpected romance between Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky is apparently still going strong. The pair stepped out on New Year's Eve together for a bundled-up walk through Central Park with Jen's Chihuahua, Pippi, snuggled up in her coat. In photos from their stroll published by the Daily Mail, the couple looks happy to share one another's company as Jen sets Pippi in the park dog run for some fun with the other pooches. That may have been their only New Year's outing. During a chat with Seth Meyers recently, the actress admitted she is not a fan of the party-centric holiday madness. "I hate it. I hate New Year's. I feel like everybody is chasing a good time," she told Seth. "I don't think I've ever had a kiss on New Year's. I don't think I've ever had a fun time." When the audience responded with "aww"s, she quipped, "Yeah poor me." Jennifer, 26, and Darren, 47, more or less gave up keeping their romance under wraps in November after a spell of dating rumors began following them a few weeks prior.

Lindsay Lohan pens refugee poem
Lindsay Lohan's interest in refugee issues has reportedly taken a turn for the literary. On Tuesday, Jan. 2, the actress-turned Greek nightclub namesake posted a poem about her recent work with refugees in Turkey. The Daily Mail reports she accidentally deleted it, though a source tells Page Six she will share it again at some point. "I cannot help but want to fix all these idle isis minds," the poem reportedly began. "If only I can keep trying to fix it all / I would keep the world living loving and small / I would share my smiles / and give too Many kisses." Last month, Lindsay told the Post she had plans to return to refugee camps in Turkey and Antep in the near future, depending, she said, on how "Turkey feels after the recent terrorist attack in Istanbul."
Prince Harry reflects on his work with Africa
The same week Prince William praised China for announcing it will end its ivory trade, Town & Country released its February 2017 feature about Prince Harry's work with endangered elephants and why he connects Africa to his late mother, Princess Diana. "I first came in 1997, straight after my mom died. My dad told my brother and me to pack our bags — we were going to Africa to get away from it all," Harry recalls. "This is where I feel more like myself than anywhere else in the world. I wish I could spend more time in Africa. I have this intense sense of complete relaxation and normality here." He also admitted that it took him a long time to deal with his mother's death. "There was a lot of buried emotion and, for a huge part of my life, I just didn't even want to think about it," he said.
Mariah Carey reportedly visited weed dispensary before NYE
Mairah Carey's team and the folks who put together "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" have yet to agree on who's to blame for the singer's botched performance. But a report this week suggests Mimi could have been under the influence that night since she'd recently visited a marijuana dispensary in Colorado. According to the Daily Mail, a spy saw Mariah and her crew at The Original Leaf in Aspen, Colorado, over the Christmas holiday. Before anyone starts blaming the lip-syncing flub on Mimi's alleged pot purchase, let's all remember weed is legal in Colorado …
Soulja Boy accuses Chris Brown of being jealous about Karrueche Tran
Nothing like a feud to start the new year … Soulja Boy posted multiple tweets on Monday, Jan. 2, slamming Chris Brown after the singer allegedly contacted the rapper about Chris' ex, Karrueche Tran. "Chris brown just called me and said he wanna fight me because I liked @karrueche picture on Instagram …" Soulja Boy tweeted, adding some profane extras we'll skip here. In another post, Soulja Boy taunted Chris about his past, tweeting, "Chris Brown this he hard cuz he hit a woman. And jumped a fan at his house party on New Years …" Most of the rest of the rant was too filled with expletives to share, but the tweets continued in that vain. The Daily Mail reports Chris managed not to reply. He split from Karrueche in 2015. Earlier this year, the exes got into a fight of their own on social media, with Chris dissing her singing skills.
LuAnn de Lesseps requested GoFundMe contributions for sick relative
It's gotta be complicated to figure out the correct etiquette when it comes to a wealthy bride and groom's wedding gift requests. LuAnn de Lesseps and Tom D'Agostino Jr., for example, first asked guests at their New Year's weekend wedding to donate to charity in lieu of giving them gifts. That reportedly changed shortly before the event, when guests were asked via email to donate instead to a GoFundMe account for an ill relative. A source griped to the New York Post that they thought it was "tacky" of the "Real Housewives" stars to ask for money for a sick family member. "You're going to spend a half-million-plus on a wedding, and then ask your friends to cough up for your relative's Band-Aids?," the insider asked. "LuAnn and Tom are both very rich — [they should] write a check to their relative and not hustle their wedding guests for cash."
