Amy Adams
Born in Italy and raised in Colorado with six siblings, Amy Adams has been one of Hollywood's go-to gingers since she caught Oscar's attention with her performance in the 2005 indie Junebug. She sang in the school choir, was an apprentice at a dance company and did dinner theater in Colorado and Minnesota to hone her craft while paying the bills with jobs at The Gap and Hooters. She booked a tiny part in Drop Dead Gorgeous, which filmed in Minnesota, and was encouraged by costar Kirstie Alley to move West. Her first roles included the never-aired TV adaptation of Cruel Intentions (She stepped in for Sarah Michelle Gellar.), the short-lived Dr. Vegas and 2002's Catch Me If You Can opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. The high-profile gig with Steven Spielberg did not provide the big break one would expect. It was the aforementioned Junebug that really put her on the top of casting people's lists. She has taken on a range of films from family-friendly fare (Ella Enchanted and The Muppets), comedies (Charlie Wilson's War and Julie & Julia) and dramas (Trouble With The Curve and On The Road). She's been nominated for two other supporting actress Academy Awards for playing a nun in Doubt and a feisty bartender/girlfriend of a boxer in The Fighter. She'll likely pick up a fourth in 2012 for her part in The Master.
She met her fiancée Darren Le Gallo in an acting class in 2002. The two have been engaged since 2008 and welcomed their first child Aviana Olea in 2010.
