"The Affair" actress Maura Tierney was hospitalized on Monday after being struck by a car while riding her bike near the ocean in Los Angeles.
TMZ reported on Aug. 27 that the actress was riding near Marina del Rey when a car clipped her back tire, sending her tumbling to the ground. Photos posted by the website show the former "ER" star laying on the ground in pain.
After complaining about the pain in her back, she was placed in a neck brace and then put on a stretcher. She was then driven to a nearby hospital, where she received treatment.
The driver of the car stayed on the scene as paramedics and police arrived. TMZ noted that the driver of the car did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and they believe the incident was simply an accident.
Nearly four hours after the accident, a rep for the actress said that she released from the hospital and suffered no major injuries.
The actress won a Golden Globe in 2016 for her performance in "The Affair."
