Ana de Armas dated Ben Affleck for less than a year, but she's scarred by the level of attention the romance got.
"Horrible," she said told ELLE in a cover story, referring to the attention. "That's one of the reasons why I left L.A."

The "Knives Out" actress and Ben, her "Deep Water" costar, were linked in March 2020 after being photographed in Havana, Cuba. They were soon inseparable, and the paparazzi couldn't get enough of it.
Being in the public eye, Ana often saw how other celebrities dealt with their personal lives being nitpicked, but that life didn't suit her.
"Going through it [myself] confirmed my thoughts about, 'This is not the place for me to be,'" she said of Los Angeles. "It became a little bit too much. There's no escape. There's no way out."

Now a New Yorker, Ana, 34, said that in L.A. there's "always the feeling of something that you don't have, something missing. It's a city that keeps you anxious."
Ana and Ben dated at a rather tricky time, as it was during the height of the COVID pandemic. While quarantining together, the couple went Instagram official in April 2020. The romance would eventually fizzle, and it was confirmed in January 2021 that the duo split.
She's now reportedly dating Tinder executive Paul Boukadakis — a romance that doesn't exactly dominate the headlines. That's fine by her, as she prefers to keep a low profile when she's not in front of the camera.
"I deleted Twitter years ago," she said. "I have barely been on Instagram for almost a year."
