One guy ruined it for everyone.
Bill Hader is often asked to sign memorabilia, but he now refuses after a fan encounter left him with a bad taste in his mouth.

"You know what it was? I used to sign stuff, and then one time I saw somebody and they had their kid come up to me to sign a BB-8 thing and it was three in the morning," the comedian, referring to his voice role as BB-8 in 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." "I was leaving the 'Inside Out' premiere and then we went to an afterparty thing and it was super late and this guy kept his kid up all night. [He] was like, 'Go over there so he'll sign it so I can sell it online.'"
That singular moment changed things and he vowed to "never sign anything" ever again, the three-time Emmy winner said on the "Happy, Sad, Confused" podcast.
"I was like, 'That's f***** up,'" Bill recalled thinking. "So now, I just kind of blanket, like, I'm not signing any of this s***."

Not only do people approach the "Barry" star for autographs, but many apparently feel obligated to do their impressions of him to him.
"Oh yeah, that happens," he said. "I've done that, too… I've been guilty of that when I get starstruck by somebody."
In fact, not long ago he actually imitated a living legend to their face.
"I remember I did to Martin Short recently," the "SNL" alum recalled. "I said, 'Remember when you did the thing,' and he was like, 'Yes Bill, I was there.'"
