It was estimated that 76 million people tuned in to watch the two-part "Seinfeld" finale in May 1998, but apparently a few fans didn't want to wait that long to find out how things would end.
Jason Alexander, who famously played George Costanza, said he was offered a bribe to reveal details about the show's final episodes.

Jason's reveal came during a video chat with fellow "Seinfeld" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus to help raise money for Covid-19 relief. While recalling the hysteria surrounding the finale, Julia recalled seeing temporary walls and barricades to prevent photographs from being taken.
"They were trying to shoot who was gonna be in the episode in the finale," the "Veep" actress said. "I remember at that time thinking, 'Seriously?'"
The duo said that for the first several seasons, they weren't sure if the show would survive, nor did they know who was actually watching it.

The "show about nothing" obviously became a phenomenon and fans couldn't get enough.
"My own publicist — I don't know if this came for you, too — my publicist was asking me if I was willing to leak out some secrets for money," Jason said of the finale. "And I went, 'They'll kill us!'"
Julia said she hoped the publicist was fired. Jason replied, "No, I gave him a raise."
