Keith Urban will never forget his first visit to the opera. His wife, Nicole Kidman, won't soon forget that night either.

In early February, a bizarre (and somewhat unbelievable) report claimed that the country singer got into a brief skirmish with another audience member at the legendary Sydney Opera House after that man smacked Nicole with a show program.
On Feb. 26, Keith actually confirmed some of the details of the report, claiming they were enjoying a "bloody great performance" at the famed opera house when he and Nicole made the grave mistake of (gulp!) standing up.
"We didn't know we weren't supposed to stand in the opera. Having not been to the opera before, ever, in my life, I am sensitive to the etiquette," he told The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

At one point Keith noticed some of the audience members giving standing ovations, so he and Nicole did the same.
"I stood up and this guy behind me just whacked not me, Nic, just really hit her … with the program," he said.
Since it was an older man, Keith didn't know how he should react.
"You're a husband you want to protect your wife. Took a lot of restraint — I was pretty upset," he said. "I think I just looked at him. I said, 'It's a standing ovation!' I didn't know I'm not allowed to."
The 4-time Grammy winner went on to say he respects opera traditions, but added, "I was also going by a lot of other people who were standing and having not been there, I didn't know."
After the hosts steadfastly said that you don't ever hit a woman, Keith chimed in, "That's what I was most [upset] at, don't hit her."
