Selena Gomez's mom, Mandy Teefey, is lucky to be alive after coming down with a case of double pneumonia.

Now that she's recovered — and also spurned by personal attacks about her weight following her appearance in the new Entrepreneur magazine — Mandy, 45, is opening up about her health battle, even sharing pictures from the hospital.
"I was told I had days to live. I had miracle Drs and love from my family and friends to keep me going. I fought," she wrote alongside the Instagram images and a screenshot of mean-spirited message. "The Drs fought and I was one of the few who made it out. I gained 60lbs plus inflammation from the infection."
When she posed for the photo shoot for Entrepreneur, which she did with her famous daughter and The Newsette founder, Daniella Pierson, Mandy had only been out of the hospital for about three weeks. On the cover, the women promoted their new Wondermind brand, which is said to be a "mental fitness ecosystem."
"I never gave up on myself or Wondermind coming to reality. I had zero business to be at a photo shoot," she said. "So, yesterday was a beautiful day for many reasons filled with personal attacks. I'm healthy and I will work on myself at my pace. It's a miracle I am here and could careless if that means I'm a 16 instead of an 8."
