Shia LaBeouf pleaded not guilty in a case in which he's accused of stealing a man's hat during an altercation.
Last month, the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office announced that it would press charges against the actor for allegedly using force and violence against a man named Tyler Murphy in a June 12 incident. Shia is alleged to have taken the man's hat during the scuffle.

Neither Shia nor the man suffered serious injuries during the incident.
According to The Daily Mail, Shia was not in court when his lawyer formally entered his plea for the two misdemeanors.
The case will go before the judge in January 2021.
This is hardly Shia's first run in with the law. The actor was arrested in 2014 for disorderly conduct, harassment, and criminal trespass. In Summer 2017, he was arrested for disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and obstruction and ordered to rehab.
"I was drunk out of my mind and not rational at all… [I felt] a kind of shame, deep shame," he later said of the 2017 arrest. "It was the first time I was told I had PTSD. I had just thought I was an alcoholic."
