A little more than a month after Courteney Cox brushed off speculation that she was sporting an engagement ring from Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny McDaid, the wedding whispers are growing louder. Page Six believes a betrothal is imminent for the couple of less than a year, much to the delight of her friends.
"Johnny loves her daughter [9-year-old] Coco, and he wants to marry Courteney," says a source. "They have discussed getting engaged and everyone thinks it is going to happen."
Cox, 49, first went public with the Irish rocker, 37, in December, when they attended a holiday bash hosted by Cox's longtime BFF (and former "Friends" co-star) Jennifer Aniston.
"She met Johnny through Ed Sheeran, who is friends with Jen Aniston," continues the insider. "All of Courteney's friends love Johnny, which is great because Jen wasn't so fond of David Arquette."
Cox, 49, called it quits with Arquette in 2010 after eleven years of marriage, but they've remained on very amicable terms.
"My boyfriend and David are friends," Courteney explained to David Letterman in April. "I'm friends with his girlfriend [Christina McLarty, who gave birth to a son on April 28] … It is strange, but we're not doing it just for Coco. We actually really like each other."
Cox and McDaid moved in together earlier this year.
