An '80s pop culture revival was going strong for a while, so we knew a '90s renaissance couldn't be far behind. First "90210" returned, and now a new "Melrose Place" starring Ashlee Simpson. Here's further proof the grunge-era is back in full-force.
Paul Rudd and son are both sporting the most ubiquitous '90s style, flannel, which is back in full-force for men and women. Coincidentally, the "Clueless" teen heartthrob is currently making the ladies swoon in his hit film "I Love You, Man."
Supermodel Linda Evangelista infamously said, "We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day." She currently stars in Prada ads, and her '90s colleagues Chisty Turlington (Escada), Cindy Crawford (Pepsi) and Naomi Campbell (YSL) still reign as well.
The next generation of supermodels is also getting in on the '90s fashion action. Sports Illustrated cover girl Bar Rafaeli has teamed up with Teen Vogue model Chanel Iman to bring back MTV's former Cindy Crawford-hosted show "House of Style."
Hard to believe, but Pearl Jam kicks off its 20th (!) anniversary early with the re-release of a super deluxe edition of "Ten." Meanwhile, '90s throwbacks like Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, Phish and Limp Bizkit are also going back on the road.
Speaking of reunion tours: New Kids on the Block's first hit it big in '89 and stayed on top through the early '90s. They broke-up in '95, mostly keeping a low profile until returning by storm in '08 with a new hit album and tour (with Lady GaGa).
Another teen idol, Jessica Simpson, rose to stardom in the late '90s – but her first hit wasn't until 2000, so technically she's a new milennium star. She did, however, recently try to bring back the '90s high-waisted jeans trend to tragic effect.
Demi Moore's career took off in the '80s, but the former Brat Packer shot to superstardom in '90s films like "Ghost" and "Indecent Proposal." Now 46 and married to 15-years-younger Ashton Kutcher, she's a "Cougar du Jour" and queen of Twitterland.
She was the biggest female star of the '90s, but then Julia Roberts won an Academy award ("Erin Brockovich"), married "normal dude" Danny Moder, and basically dropped off the fame map. But she's coming back with Clive Owen in "Duplicity."
Billy Corgan may be the last Smashing Pumpkin standing, but "the band" plans to head back to the studio this Spring. Former drummer Jimmy Chamberlain says he refuses to just "cash the check," a dig at Corgan's newfound commercial sell-out status.
Not only are '90s rap superstar MC Hammer's trademark harem pants (aka "Hammer Pants") back in style (you heard it here first, kids!), but the performer-turned-pastor proved he's "2 Legit 2 Quit" by becoming an early celebrity Twitter adopter.
MTV "Real World" star (and "The Grind" host – remember that?) Eric Neis made headlines again last week when he rescued a dog from a frozen lake — in the nude. The former male model currently stars in "Confessions of a Teen Idol" on VH1.
