Chris Brown got a visit from child protective services and police on Thursday as part of his recent arrest for assault with a deadly weapon.
The singer has denied any wrongdoing, maintaining that he was set up. The Los Angeles District Attorney has yet to file any charges.
TMZ reports that a DCFS investigator, accompanied by a police officer, went to Chris' house to check on the wellbeing of his 2-year-old daughter, Royalty, who was in his home at the time of the visit. She was apparently fine.
The website said Chris' camp believes that Royalty's mother, Nia Guzman, filed a complaint against him after a woman claimed the singer pulled a gun on her in late August.
On Aug. 30, Baylee Curran said Chris got fired up when she questioned the authenticity of his jewelry and he pulled a gun on her. Chris maintains that she made up the story because she was mad that he kicked her out of his house.
His claim may not be so far fetched. It turns out the woman allegedly sent a text prior to calling the cops that said she was planning on setting him up. TMZ obtained the text that said, "Hey safari don't you know this freak Chris brown is kicking me out of his house because I called his friend jewelry fake can you come get me my Uber is messing up if not I'm going to set him up and call the cops and say that he tried to shoot me and that will teach him a lesson I'm going to set his a-- up. Lol come get me."
The authenticity of the text is still in question, but if it proves real it certainly helps Chris' case.
That incident, whether it happened or not, was all Nia needed to file against her baby daddy. The two have been at odds basically since Royalty was born.
In August, two weeks before the gun incident, Chris earned a huge win in his ongoing custody dispute with Nia, who had requested full custody and asked for $16,000 a month for child support.
A judge ruled that their previous settlement would remain in place, giving Chris access to Royalty 12 days a month. He also said that Chris' monthly payment of $2,500 was sufficient.
