Ciara and her ex Future will be co-parents to their 1-year-old son, also named Future, much to the dismay of the "1, 2 Step" singer.

On May 17, Ciara went before a California judge to ask for sole custody of baby Future. In her argument, according to TMZ, she claimed Future was "a bad parent who was not present in the child's life."

Future asked for joint custody of their son.

In their arguments, Ciara and her lawyer also dragged his name through the mud, saying he was just a bad person, in general.

A judge, though, remained unmoved and awarded them joint custody of their son, giving Papa Future exactly what he wanted.

Ciara and her ex have been at odds over their son since they split and she began dating NFL quarterback Russell Wilson. After she took their son to Russell's football training camp, the rapper blasted Ciara and Russell, calling her NSFW words and telling him not to act like a stepfather.

Speaking of an infamous photo of Russell pushing baby Future around in a stroller, daddy Future said, "She probably set him [Russell] up. You letting them catch that photo. Leave my son out of all the publicity stunts."

She ended up filing a $15 million defamation and slander lawsuit against her ex, saying he is destroying not only her namesake, but also Russell's.

On March 11, Ciara and Russell got engaged on the beach.

Ciara's disdain for her ex was so bad that she refused to say his name while announcing the 2016 Billboard Award nominees, an event she's co-hosting on May 22.

While on "Good Morning America," the "Body Party" singer was reading the list of nominees in the "Top Rap Artist" category, along with co-host Ludacris. She smiled and said Drake, Fetty Wap, Silento and Wiz Khalifa before she suddenly stopped speaking as rapper Future's face appeared on screen. Ludacris, recognizing the touchy situation, jumped in to save the day.
