Dakota Johnson isn't one to shy away from a film that deals with sex. In fact, she embraces that kind of movie.

It's not that she's a "raging pervert," as she calls it, it's that she likes to do movies that are real.

In speaking about both "Fifty Shades of Grey" and her new film "How to Be Single," the actress joked that if a film doesn't have a sexual undertone, she's not interested.

In choosing her films, Dakota said it really depends on the filmmaker and the story. "It depends on the character and the heart and soul of the person that I see on the page, and if it resonates with something that I think I can summon in myself," she said while promoting "How to Be Single" in Los Angeles.

She found something in the upcoming comedy.

"I guess with this film, I was attracted to the positive outlook on women especially, exploring relationships with different people and being confident and comfortable and strong," she said. "That was the kind of thing that was appealing to me, because that's what's real and that's honest and there's nothing to be ashamed of. That's what single women do."

Dakota knows all about being single. Although she's been off-and-on with Matthew Hitt, she's back amongst the unhitched crowd.

"I love that I'm alone all the time," she joked. "I love sleeping next to no one. I really don't want to be cuddled. I love to have dinner by myself."

Jokes aside, she added, "No, I actually like...I kind of cherish my time alone. I like solitude. So that's nice. But then, being single also sucks sometimes because you're single."
