In Season 1 of The Pitt, Tracy Ifeachor portrayed fourth-year resident Dr. Collins, who worked at the teaching hospital but a source told TheWrap the beloved character's storyline ended in the first season — at least for now._
Before ending the first season, it was revealed that Tracy Ifeachor's Dr. Collins and Noah Wyle's Michael "Robby" Robinavitch had a romantic relationship before the show began. After Dr. Collins privately suffered a miscarriage, Dr. Robby advised her to take a personal day.
"Go home," Dr. Robby told her. "Turn off your phone, turn off the TV, pour a glass of wine, have a bath. Go to bed. And if you need anything …"

In the final episode, fans were hopeful that Tracy Ifeachor would make an appearance, as the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center became overwhelmed with patients after a tragedy at a music festival. However, when Dr. Collins walked out of the hospital, she took Noah Wyle's Michael "Robby" Robinavitch's advice and turned her phone off."I know Chris was particularly motivated by Dr. Collins' Do Not Disturb functionality on her phone," Andy Greenwald told Wyle in an April episode of "The Watch" podcast.
"Deep sleeper," Wyle joked, as the character failed to return to the hospital amid tragedy. "Deep sleeper, that Collins."

Noah Wyle hinted at his character spiraling toward the end of the season."The whole end of the season is just removing bearing walls from Robby's life," Wyle said on "The Watch" podcast. "He leans so heavily on Collins and Langdon, and then you take them both away. He leans so heavily on Dana, and then she becomes compromised. Then his one last relationship, to Jake, is severed when he can't save his girlfriend. It really was more of a, 'Let's take away all of this guy's support system and have him out there.'"
"If she had been there, I think she would have been maybe one of those voices that could have reached him," Wyle continued. "We didn't want him to be reachable."
