When "Flip or Flop" star Tarek El Moussa ran out of the home he shared with wife Christina El Moussa after a volatile fight, there was another man who witnessed it.
That man is now Christina's new boyfriend.
According to TMZ, Gary Anderson was on the scene back in May when deputies were called to respond to "a call of a possibly suicidal male with a gun." Gary supposedly saw Tarek run out of the home into the the nearby woods.
Gary has known the now-former couple for years and has worked with them through his job as a contractor.
Gary was actually at a neighbor's home at the time of the incident, but helped to console Christina. It was then that she told him that Tarek had a gun.
Christina and Gary have now started dating, TMZ says.
Tarek and Christina star on HGTV's "Flip or Flop," in which they purchase distressed properties, repair and remodel them and attempt to resell the home. They always seemed like a happy couple, but there was more brewing beneath the surface.
In May, Tarek and Christina reportedly had a blowout fight wherein she feared he was going to kill himself. At the time, 11 police officers and a helicopter went after Tarek and spotted him on a hiking trail.
Within minutes, a helicopter spotted the reality TV star on a trail and he was told him to drop his weapon. Tarek claimed he had no intention of hurting himself and he wanted to "blow off some steam." The weapon, he claimed, was brought in case he encountered mountain lions and rattlesnakes, the website said.
This week, Tarek and Christina acknowledged that they split after an "unfortunate misunderstanding" in which "the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution."
The parents to two children said in a statement, "We decided to separate while we reevaluated the next steps in our married life. We believed this was in the best interests of the children and the best way to determine a path forward."
The duo still plans to film the show together, despite the split.
On Wednesday, Dec. 14, Tarek took to social media to share a photo with his 6-year-old daughter Taylor, while also acknowledging the week.
"Me and the #love of my life #crushing it!!!," he said. "It's been a #crazy few days but we #love our kids soooo #much!! My #heart and #soul."
