Meghan Markle is set to make a cameo in
Close Personal Friends, which could pave the way for her to appear in more TV and films in the future.
"Meghan is very much facing a make-or-break year with her brand and, as her commercial partners, Netflix has a vested interest in seeing her succeed," a source told
Daily Express.

"This is not, as some have suggested, Meghan 'dipping her toe in the water' prior to a full-blown return to the screen," the source continued. "It's actually just the start of a campaign to raise her profile prior to establishing her as a leading influencer and entrepreneur – a direction her advisers and handlers at WME are helping her follow."

According to the source, WME, which is Meghan Markle's agency, has been "inundated" with offers for her.
The insider claimed they're working with the star to figure out which walk-on roles and "friendly" TV talk shows she should appear on.

Though Meghan Markle's contract with Netflix has caused controversy, co-CEO Ted Sarandos publicly defended the streaming giant's partnership with the Suits star.
"Meghan is underestimated in terms of her influence on culture," Sarandos said on the "Aspire" podcast.

According to the insider, Meghan Markle will still have to prove herself.
"He and the rest of the board see the coming year as crucial for her," the insider shared. "The hope is that, holding hands with Netflix, she really hits the big time as a celebrity influencer and entrepreneur. That's the aim."
