In the new book
William and Catherine: The Monarchy's New Era: The Inside Story, author
Russell Myers claims
Prince William struggled to relate to
Prince Harry during the early days of their feud. A source alleged that William thought his younger brother "became paranoid, angry, obsessive and firmly rooted in the past" as their relationship deteriorated following the Duke of Sussex's marriage to Meghan Markle in 2018, even though, "at that time at least, there was a lot of love and support available for Harry."

According to the book,
Prince William didn't know when, exactly, his relationship with
Prince Harry began to unravel. The Prince of Wales "felt as though somewhere down the line, perhaps it is impossible to even say when, that he lost his brother," a source told author Russell Myers.

Author Russell Myers also writes in
William and Catherine: The Monarchy's New Era: The Inside Story that
Prince William and wife
Kate Middleton grew increasingly concerned about working with
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as drama festered ahead of the Sussexes' 2020 royal exit. "William and Catherine were fearful not only of the effect on team morale," Myers writes, referring to how issues were allegedly affecting their Kensington Palace staff, "but also their capacity to work with Harry and Meghan moving forward."

In his new book, which is told from
Prince William and Kate Middleton's perspective, author Russell Myers describes the divide between the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. "In one camp you had the people who cared, wanted those working in the household to enjoy themselves while working there," a source told Myers, "and on the other side it was something different every day. Nothing was ever good enough, there were constant complaints. It was exhausting."
