Another day, another update to the saga of the "Flip of Flop" couple, Tarek El Moussa and Christina El Moussa.
The latest development? 35-year-old Tarek got involved with their children's nanny, 23-year-old Alyssa Logan, according to TMZ.
The outlet reports that though Tarek developed a scandalous relationship with the caretaker of his two children, 6-year-old daughter Taylor and 1-year-old son Brayden. Aside from watching the kids, Alyssa also performed other chores around the house.
TMZ reports that this involvement with the nanny wasn't a factor in the couple's split, and that it happened 4 months after they separated.
Since Alyssa was an employee of the El Moussas, insiders close to the couple told the outlet that Tarek was warned to fire her before starting a relationship. The HGTV star did just that, and let Alyssa go in September. He was then clear to start dating her in September.
The couple were spotted on a date out in public back in October, when they attended a Florida Georgia Line concert. TMZ obtained video of the pair enjoying the show together.
Unfortunately for the new couple, their relationship didn't last long. Alyssa and Tarek reportedly split up later that month.
As of Dec. 16 sources told TMZ that there was still a chance Tarek could reunite with his wife. The two were spotted on a coffee date on Dec. 15, and reports have circulated that the estranged couple have been attempting to resolve their problems and save their marriage for the sake of their two young children.
The couple split back in May, after reportedly getting into an argument that escalated to the point where authorities were called and Tarek left the family home with a gun. The couple have since spoken out about that ordeal, saying that it wasn't as terrifying as it sounded, and claiming, "the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution."
Their statement also explained, "We decided to separate while we reevaluated the next steps in our married life. We believed this was in the best interests of the children and the best way to determine a path forward."
Despite their rocky personal life, sources say their HGTV show will continue to film. The couple buy homes in desperate need of renovations, and then remodel and sell them on "Flip or Flop."
