Battle of the BFFs!

Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence went head to head at the 2016 Golden Globes in the Best Performance by an Actress in a motion picture musical or comedy category, and only one of the Hollywood besties could come out on top.

Jennifer reigned victorious at the Jan. 10 ceremony, taking home the award for her work in "Joy." The actress, who's no stranger to the Golden Globe stage, gave a sweet speech, shouting out her director David O. Russell first, stating, "Every time I'm up here it's because of you."

She went on to thank her cast and family, and wrapped up her speech with yet another homage to the man that helped her get there, David, ending with, "David, I love you. I want us to be buried next to each other. I really do."

It wasn't the first time Jennifer hit the stage that night, she and Amy introduced reels for their respective films earlier in the ceremony.

The two poked fun at celebrity nicknames, with Jennifer introducing herself as "J. Law," and Amy following suit and calling herself "A. Schu" before Jennifer explained that she couldn't coin her own celebrity nickname, and asking, "What do people usually call you?"

To that, in typical Amy fashion, the comic used an expletive and got bleeped out on national television, as the censors muted her line, "Usually, they just call me c---."

Long before the big show aired, Amy and Jennifer had been joking about the competition in the press. Amy told Entertainment Weekly, "As soon as I saw that we were both nominated, I took her right out of my phone because our friendship is obviously over."

Jennifer has been cracking jokes about their battle since December 2015, but was more concerned about their fashion choices. The "Joy" star told E! News, "We're going to try to figure out to wear the exact same thing. That's my mission. I really want us to wear the same thing." Since Jennifer is the face of a certain fashion house, that meant Amy would need to also be wearing that brand. "She's going to have to wear Dior. I'm just going to have to have Dior make two of whatever they're making for me," Jennifer explained.

Unfortunately, Jennifer's dream didn't come true. The "Joy" star went with a red Dior number, while the "Trainwreck" comic sported a black and white Prabal Gurang gown.

It wouldn't have been the first time that the two wore the same gown. Back in October 2015 at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards, Amy rocked a red Calvin Klein gown that looked very familiar. It was strikingly similar to the one Jennifer Lawrence wore at the 2011 Academy Awards, which was also a bright red Calvin Klein number. Though the fashion house never confirmed that it was the same gown, it gives us a close enough example of what the buds may have looked like in matching ensembles.
