Lindsay Lohan might be converting to Islam!

The actress recently opened up to The Sun, explaining her curiosity about the religion.

"I'm a very spiritual person and I'm really open to learning," Lindsay explained. "America has portrayed holding a Koran in such a different way to what it actually is."

In order to try and understand what the Koran truly is, Lindsay has been studying the religious book. This potential conversion comes less of a surprise to Lindsay's fans, who may remember photos of the star carrying around a Koran in 2015.

Lindsay, who was raised Catholic, told The Sun, "We all believe in something and at the end of the day it all ties to a god or a spiritual adviser."

Her willingness to accept a new religion runs in the family. She also spoke about the fact that her younger sister Ali Lohan has converted to Buddhism. Lindsay cited her little sister's shared curiosity about major religions in the interview, saying, "My sister is Buddhist but she is still interested in learning other things from me. It's good to be open-minded."

If Lindsay makes the full switch is Islam remains to be seen, but this isn't the first time she's dabbled in other faiths. During the height of the Kabbalah craze in Hollywood, Lindsay wore a red string bracelet like many other celebrities. She also was reported as joining rocker Courtney Love's Buddhist changing group back in 2012.

But before she is potentially converting to the religion of Islam, Lindsay faces one hurdle. The former child star admitted that she had yet to get through the thick holy book. "I'm not done reading it. Do you know how long that would take? It takes so long," Lindsay confessed to The Sun.

There's no word yet on whether her potential fiancé would make the religious switch as well. Rumors have been swirling that the star is engaged to her boyfriend of eight months, Russian business heir Egor Tarabasov.

In the event that Lindsay becomes a Muslim she won't be alone. Other stars in Hollywood that have converted to the faith include Janet Jackson, Cat Stevens and Mike Tyson.
