Suddenly Janet Jackson's fans have no, uh, control when it comes to tickets they purchased before she pulled the plug on her tour.

In fact, fans are being denied refunds because Janet hasn't officially canceled the tour, she's only technically postponed it indefinitely.

On April 6, the legendary singer announced rather abruptly that she was postponing the second leg of her Unbreakable tour because she wanted to start a family with her billionaire husband Wissam Al Mana. She didn't say when, or even if, she would return to the stage.

TMZ is reporting that several of the venues where Janet was supposed to play haven't gotten official word the tour's been called off yet, and most believe that it will go on at a later date. The question is: when?

Ticketmaster sent an email to ticket holders saying that there would be no refunds because until they get word about a cancellation, the company is treating it as a postponement that will be rescheduled. People could be waiting months or even years until they either see the show or get a refund.

For the unforeseeable future, their money and their tickets are in limbo.

Janet's fans know a thing or two about delays, though. Last summer she shut down her tour to tend to her ailing father. In late December, she attributed a tour delay to her need to recover from an unspecified surgery.

This time, Janet is giving more detail.

"I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour," she told fans in a video released on Twitter on Wednesday. "Please, if you can try and understand that it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can."

She didn't specify if she's trying to get pregnant or adopt a child.

Toward the end of the video, she went on to thank her band, dancers, crew and fans.

"I can't wait for us to get started again," she said. "I'll see you soon. I love you. Bye."

Hey, with all this extra downtime on her hands, maybe she can drive her niece and nephew to the tattoo shop!
