Janice Dickinson's fiance has lost his doctor's license because he carried on a sexual relationship with a patient for seven years.
TMZ reported that Janice's beau, psychiatrist Robert Hugh Gerner, surrendered his license over the summer.
The relationship occurred long before he began dating the former supermodel.
Robert was allegedly in a sexual relationship with a female patient from 2004 to 2011, and the two even lived together during the last 3 years, according to documents filed in the case, obtained by the celebrity website.
The romance broke the California Medical Board's code of ethics, prompting the board to file a complaint against him last year. Robert fought to keep his license, but ultimately (and quietly) gave it up.
Robert has faced a similar circumstance like this before, as well. Court documents show that he was suspended for 60 days in 1994 for sexual misconduct with another patient.
Janice and Robert got engaged in 2012 when he proposed just three months after meeting her. He reportedly proposed to the model without a ring, popping the question in the car while she took him to the Los Angles airport. The two later went shopping later for a ring together.
They met through his son and Janice has said in the past that it was "love at first sight." In November last year, Robert admitted to going under the knife and getting a facelift ahead of his wedding to Janice.
"I wanted to look my very best. Janice is a supermodel," he told Inside Edition, but added, "I don't have to change for her to love me."
Janice, who was there for the Inside Edition interview, reassured him, "I love you the way you are."
She later told Us Weekly, "I intend to make Rocky the happiest man in the world for the rest of his life. I couldn't be happier right now. Oh! And our wedding is going to make Brad and Angelina's look like a trip to city hall!"
This will be Janice's fourth marriage.
