That's the message to take away from Khloe Kardashian, who posted a vague and lengthy Instagram about self-love on March 13.
The 31-year-old "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star posted a photo of a quote by R.G. Moon that says, "Sometimes we have to stop being so giving to others because in the process we end up destroying the part of us that needs to be giving to ourselves."
But the quote was not enough for Khloe as she elaborated on what it meant to her in the caption.
"I find that people may be practicing self care on so many levels but abandon themselves emotionally," she wrote. "So many search for others to make them feel whole. Try to stop searching for your missing pieces in other people or material things. Self-love or personal happiness should never be contingent on success because there are always failures to contend with no matter what level."
She continued to write about self-love: "Self-love is dynamic and runs deep. When we act in ways that expand our self-love, we begin to expand our minds. We start to notice the parts we once abandoned. We will find dimensions of our soul that needs attention too. We begin to know exactly what we deserve and we shouldn't settle for anything less. Don't apologize for your past for it made you who you are today. Make your past fuel your future and the way you choose to live. Be in the now!"
And just when you thought that was the place to end it, she went on, "When your intent is to love yourself rather than abandon yourself, you start being able to feel compassion for your past choices. You will start to be proud of the progress you've made in life," she further wrote. "Instead of letting your past control your present let it fuel your daily evolution to greatness. Don't look at your past as a mistake. Look at how far you've grown and be grateful. You will finally begin to grow and elevate to a better you."
She ended with more advice.
"You define your worth! Don't ever give anyone else that much power over your self," she added. "Less judgement- more dynamic unbiased self love."
Contemplating self-love appears to be keeping her up at night, because Khloe went on Twitter after and wrote, "Insomnia is the worst."
In February, Khloe split with NBA star James Harden, and not long after, she shared a cryptic quote.
On Feb. 20, she posted a quote on her Instagram account that read, "You never really see how toxic someone is until you breathe fresher air."
With Khloe's love life, these quotes can be read into, but she's also helping others in the process. Many have commented on her quote posts with thanks that she shared words they need to hear.
