King Charles III chose to deliver a speech rooted in "triumph of courage over adversity." However, BBC viewers weren't inspired by his words.
"#KingsSpeech worst Xmas day speech ever!! Get William on the throne," one critic said on X, referring to Prince William.

"Not a lot of tweeting going on about #KingCharles or his #KingsSpeech. Thought there'd be lots on both sides of the coin," another person wrote. "Perhaps people of all persuasions are finally tired of the whole thing #TheKing."

King Charles III used his address to applaud the U.K.'s diversity and to work toward uniting the country. However, listeners were annoyed with the speech's themes.

King Charles III also encouraged others to quiet our minds give us "the still point of the turning world," borrowing a phrase from
T.S. Eliot.
"When His Majesty references that lovely phrase about the 'still point in the turning world' at a time when, as he puts it, it's 'spinning ever faster,' he has in mind the effect that new technologies can have on society and how they can impact both community cohesion and general well-being, especially for younger people," the rep told
