Maria Menounos and her boyfriend, Keven Undergaro, have been an item for nearly two decades -- "We've been together 19 [years] this April -- or maybe 18. I forget," the E! News anchor said during a recent chat with Wonderwall.com -- but don't expect them to tie the knot anytime soon.
"We talk about it -- we've been talking about it recently," Maria told us while discussing the dress she'll be wearing during the 2016 Academy Awards, a collaboration with designer Christian Siriano that will pay tribute to Stella Artois and Water.org's Buy A Lady A Drink campaign.
So what exactly is the hold up? Apparently, Kris Jenner is to blame. ... Well, sort of!
The Kardashian family matriarch, a longtime friend of the couple, once offered to help them plan their wedding should they ever decide to make it official. And therein lies the problem.
"We just can't agree on what [our wedding] would be when we're in the hypothetical conversation," says Maria.
"I love the idea of four people on an island in Greece -- that's my ideal wedding," she explains. "He's like, 'Well, my fairy godmother Kris Jenner has promised to plan my wedding, so why would I give up that amazing opportunity to have Kris Jenner plan the wedding of the century for me?'"
Fair enough! After all, the momager has played a hand in some of the most over-the-top wedding ceremonies in recent memory. (Remember Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian West's $10 million televised nuptials?)
But the host isn't willing to make compromises when it comes to the details surrounding her big day.
"I'm the bride," she asserts. "It's my day!"
"That's when the conversation just ends," concludes the former "Extra" host. "And I'm like, 'Okay, we're at a loss.'"
Over the years, the brunet beauty's Greek Orthodox upbringing -- and her traditional family -- have also caused complications with plans to tie the knot. When she was a teenager, Maria's father even disowned her because of her relationship with Keven, who's an Italian-American producer.
"It wasn't an easy situation," Maria told AOL.com in April 2014. "[Keven] wasn't Greek so my dad was very upset, pretty much disowned me, took my education away. ... I was now pretty much homeless, no education, no degree, but I had Keven."
The 37-year-old and her boyfriend have since reconciled with her family, though Maria's parents continue to put pressure on the couple to wed and start a family.
Maria's clan even appeared in her early 2014 Oxygen reality TV series "Chasing Maria Menounos," which concluded when Keven converted to the Christian Orthodox faith.
Now if only Maria were game to let Kris Jenner coordinate her big fat Greek wedding!
