Donald Trump was greatly criticized after comments he made about NATO troops during the war in Afghanistan.According to Daily Express, Donald Trump falsely claimed that alliance forces "stayed a little back, a little off the frontlines," which sparked disappointment amongst veterans, soldiers and military families.

Prince Harry, who was deployed to Afghanistan twice, commented on Donald Trump's statement."In 2001, NATO invoked Article 5 for the first — and only — time in history," Harry said, per Daily Express. "It meant that every allied nation was obliged to stand with the United States in Afghanistan, in pursuit of our shared security. Allies answered that call."

"I served there. I made lifelong friends there. And I lost friends there. The United Kingdom alone had 457 service personnel killed," Prince Harry continued. "Thousands of lives were changed forever. Mothers and fathers buried sons and daughters. Children were left without a parent. Families are left carrying the cost."_
After Prince Harry retired from the British armed forces in 2015, he has since used his platform to advocate for fellow veterans through the Invictus Games."Those sacrifices deserve to be spoken about truthfully and with respect, as we all remain united and loyal to the defense of diplomacy and peace," Harry said.
