During
Prince Harry's trial against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) in London, he told the High Court via
Daily Express that
Daily Mail's incessant reporting made him "paranoid beyond belief" and put a "massive strain" on his relationships.
_
In a shocking confession,
Prince Harry claimed that "every move, thought or feeling was being tracked and monitored." The Duke of Sussex said the "terrifying" situation created "distrust and suspicion" in his life.

In written submissions,
Prince Harry's attorney,
David Sherborne, claimed the
Spare author was "caused great distress by each and every episode of UIG (unlawful information gathering) against him by Associated or on its behalf, and the fruits of that UIG in the 14 unlawful articles of which he complains."
_
David Sherborne continued of
Prince Harry's experience: "It is evident from the articles and the evidence of the Duke of Sussex that the targeting of him has had a profoundly distressing effect, with episodes of pleaded UIG described as 'disturbing to feel that my every move, thought or feeling was being tracked and monitored just for the
Daily Mail to make money out of it.'"

Prince Harry,
Elton John,
Elizabeth Hurley and other celebrities took legal action against the
Daily Mail and
Mail on Sunday. They accused the outlets of unlawful information gathering, including phone hacking, bugging and impersonation for private records spanning multiple decades.
