According to the New York Post, Queen Elizabeth II barred Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos from the U.K. Global Investment Summit at Windsor due to how The Crown portrayed Prince Philip. A source claimed Her Majesty was left "furious" after The Crown painted her husband as a cold father."Boris [Johnson] didn't really care who was there as long as some rich people showed up," a source told the outlet.

"It was suggested by the government that Netflix should attend the summit and the drinks reception at Windsor Castle, which was ultimately the biggest attraction of the whole event. The Palace said no," an insider added.Queen Elizabeth II's marriage to Prince Philip, as well as the unraveling of King Charles III's relationship with Princess Diana, were plot points for the series.
