Mischa Barton is being blasted on social media after writing a message about Alton Sterling, but accompanying her words with a photo of herself drinking wine on a yacht in Paris on Thursday.

The former "O.C." star quickly took down the message (screengrabbed here), but not before she became an Internet punchline.

The photo showed the actress leaning against the rail of a boat looking solemn. A glass of wine was in her hand and she donned a black bikini and a white coverup.

"I'm truly heartbroken to watch videos like the #altonsterling execution," she wrote. "'This may have been going on forever in the United States but thank god the pigs get caught on camera now. Its unthinkable and an embarrassment to America."

She continued, "The country I was brought up in. Somebody make change. We need gun control and unity. And a real President so think about that when this election is around the corner. The world is a precarious place right now. #stop #reflect and #act appropriately."

Many celebrities are outraged over the shooting death of Alton at the hands of two Louisiana police officers on July 5, but most chose more appropriate ways to air their concerns.

"You pouting on a yacht, drinking . . . This is supposed to reflect your sadness about the Alton sterling case? It's all bout u," one person commented.

Many said it was hard to take the words seriously given the photo that accompanied it.

One person derided her, saying, "Not trying to drag Mischa Barton but she should be ashamed for posting a pic of herself -- carefree, on a damn yacht with that statement."

A commenter named Adam Johnson said, "Mischa Barton chiming in on racism while on a yacht is the most 2016 thing of 2016."

The actress deleted the post after about three hours and after hundreds of comment shredded her.

Mischa has been in Paris for Fashion Week.
