One big loss and one big win for Idris Elba this week ...
The British has split from longtime girlfriend Naiyana Garth, reports Us Weekly. The sad news came out right before Elba took home the Spirit Award in the Best Supporting Male category for his role in "Beasts Of No Nation" on Saturday, Feb. 27.
Garth was noticeably absent from 43-year-old actor's arm at the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday, where he took not one but two awards for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his role in "Beasts of No Nation," and another for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries for his role in "Luther."
The duo began dating in the summer of 2013 and soon after Garth announces she was pregnant with the actor's child. The couple welcomed a son, Winston, on April 17, 2014.
At the time, the "Luther" star tweeted the big news, writing, "My Son Winston Elba was born yesterday..Truly Amazing."
Elba also has a daughter, Isan, from a previous relationship with Hanne "Kim" Norgaard.
Meanwhile, when the newly single actor won the Spirit Award, he brought his 15-year-old costar, Abraham Attah, on stage with him to thank him. The Brit said, "I'm not here on my own. I want to share this award with Abraham, [he] is an amazing talent and never done it before, so this is with you, I share this. I couldn't have done it without you."
