Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons seem to be following a long line of actors before them, and finding love on set. The stars play a married couple on FX's "Fargo," and now seem to be transitioning that romance to real life.

The relationship isn't surprising, since on set relationships are nothing new, but the timeline of the romance is worth investigating.

Kirsten, 34, first met Jesse Plemons, 28, in 2015. The actors were cast as Peggy and Ed Blomquist on the second season of "Fargo." At that time, Kirsten was in a very serious relationship with actor Garrett Hedlund, whom she also met on a set back in 2011. After starring in 2012's "On the Road," Kirsten and Garrett started dating and even sparked engagement rumors in the summer of 2015.

The second season of "Fargo" debuted on FX in Fall 2015, and Jesse's affinity for Kirsten was evident at a panel during PaleyFest in New York City. When asked about working with Kirsten, Jesse called the opportunity "a gift." The former "Friday Night Lights" star added, "I loved Kirsten's work for a long time, and I was really excited once I'd met her, and she's a great person, and we're both actors that just… have fun with the material."

A few months later it was clear they were having fun together after the cameras stopped rolling. Photos of a very comfortable encounter between Kirsten and Jesse surfaced in March 2016, months after the final episode of "Fargo" aired, and while Kirsten was still very much with Garrett. The photos showed the co-stars spending the afternoon together in Los Angeles, sharing a cigarette and laughing as paparazzi snapped their pictures.

A month later, news broke that Kirsten and Garrett had called it quits after four years together. It came as somewhat of a surprise to fans, and without an official statement in mid-April 2016. People magazine spoke with sources that surmised it was due to their "very different personalities" and not being "on the same page when it came to their future."

Kirsten spent most of May 2016 attending big events alone, including the Met Gala and the Cannes Film Festival, but by the end of the month she was photographed with Jesse in Los Angeles.

This time, the photos weren't just of former co-stars sharing a giggle. Cameras captured the couple locking lips behind a fence, proving that chemistry really had translated off screen.

There's been no official statement on their status, but a picture is worth a thousand words.

For her part, despite being caught kissing, Kirsten hasn't decided to make the new romance red carpet official quite yet. Less than a week after the pictures surfaced, the actress attended the 2016 CFDA Awards in June sans Jesse.
