Tom Hiddleston wasted absolutely no time when he heard that Taylor Swift and her boyfriend of 15 months, Calvin Harris, had split up.
According to Us Weekly, Tom began reaching out immediately.
"He really courted her," a source told the magazine, adding that he sent Taylor flowers. "He liked her and saw an opportunity when she was suddenly single, and he went for it."
The two met each other at the Met Gala in New York in early May -- just a month before her high-profile split -- where they danced together. Afterward, Tom told MTV that he found Taylor to be "very charming."
Even though the split was still very fresh, Taylor was up to testing the waters with Tom.
"She's single, so of course if a cute guy reaches out who she likes, she would talk to him," the source said. "There really isn't a better way to get over a breakup!"
And, to be fair, she moved fast with Tom. The new couple was photographed kissing and holding hands while overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Rhode Island (many people still believe the photos were staged, as they were just too perfect).
"When he went up to her house in Rhode Island, the love just bloomed pretty instantly," the source said, adding that that two "are very into each other."
Very into each and very all over each other. On Tuesday night, Taylor and Tom kissed, cuddled and danced in a suite while catching Selena Gomez's concert in Nashville. In full view of much of the crowd, the new couple, still in the newlywed phase, didn't seem to care who noticed them.
For Taylor, the 35-year-old "checks off a lot of boxes," a separate source said. "He's hot, smart, talented, British — everything she's into."
The source thinks the two could have staying power. Taylor and Tom seems to think so, too. A source told E!, "Tom wants to be with Taylor."
The source added, "Taylor said she thinks he is the one, as odd and new as it sounds."
